At the forefront of research to discover and breed CBD-rich cannabis strains is Lawrence Ringo of SoHum Seeds. Ringo has been breeding cannabis for more than 20 years, and is passionate about the medicinal benefits of CBD. As Ringo told O’Shaughnessy’s (www.beyondthc.com), “I had no idea what the CBD count was until Samantha Miller of Pure Analytics analyzed my stuff and said it was 11.3% CBD. ‘And by the way,’ she said, ‘You have eight other strains with great CBD potential.'”
A SoHum Seeds Harle-Tsu plant won the Highest CBD award at the Emerald Cup in 2012, testing at 20% CBD and less than 1% THC. Other strains have a balance of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids.
Lost Coast Botanical Cooperative member-farmers grow from SoHum seeds. LCBC members may grow their own medicine from SoHum clones or seeds procured from the Cooperative.
